23. august 1927 henrettedes anarkisterne Nicola Sacco og Bartolomeo Vanzetti i den elektriske stol i staten Massachuset trods omfattende international solidaritetskampagne.

Begge blev dødsdømte for en forbrydelse i Boston, som de intet havde med at gøre, men – efter 7 års retssager og solidaritetskampagner – blev de de to italienske indvandrere henrettet, som en del af forsøget på at knuse den radikale arbejderbevægelse i USA.

Album Ballads of Sacco & Vanzetti (You Tube channel). A set of songs, written and performed by Woody Guthrie, related to the trial, conviction and execution of anarchists Sacco and Vanzetti. The songs were recorded between 1946 and 1947. An unreleased Pete Seeger song was added when it was released as an album.
