Den spanske maler Francisco Goya fødes i Fuendetoros, Aragonien. (Dør 16. april 1828 i Bordeaux i Frankrig).

Kunstneren var stadig feudal tjenende, og malede revolutionært uden for de officielle rammer.

Goya: “Disasters of War”, 1810 – 20.
Goya’s series of etchings represent the horrors of the Napoleonic invasion of Spain in 1808 during which French soldiers brutally tortured the Spanish peasants and the Spanish responded with their own acts of cruelty.
