Den russiske bolsjevik og revolutionsleder Grigorij Zinovjev fødes (som Ovsei-Gershon Aronovich Radomyslsky Apfelbaum) i provinsen Kherson i nuv. Ukraine. (Myrdet under første Moskvaproces 25. august 1936). Årene 1919-1926 var han formand for Kommunistisk Internationale. Sojourner Truth
Sojourner Truth

Den amerikanske abolitionist Sojourner Truth dør i Battle Creek, Michigan. (Født ca. 1797 i Swartekill, Ulster County, New York, som Isabella Baumfree). Født som slavegjort, og handlet flere gange, før hun i 1826 flygtede først til Canada, senere New York. Antog i 1843 efter religiøs vækkelse navnet Sojourner Truth (“Sandhedsrejsende”). Aktiv i kvinderetsbevægelsen og anti-slaveri-bevægelsen (abolitionist-) og under den Amerikanske Borgerkrig. Hendes tale i Akron til Ohio Women’s Right Convention i 1851, Ain’t I am Woman, er en af de berømte amerikanske taler. (Se links om talen på tidsskriftet Marronages læseliste, 2017, under Truth).
